Cheryl Bartlett, CEO of the Greater New Bedford Community Health Center, met with government officials to discuss health care budget and policy changes at the state and national levels. This meeting marks the first time that the three chambers came together to form a regional dialogue about issues that affect the Southeastern MA region instead of a town-by-town approach. State legislators were there to discuss activities at the state level and how they impact locally. Congressman Keating also discussed developments regarding the Affordable Care Act "repeal and replace" efforts.
Ms. Bartlett said of the meeting, "Given the uncertainties that exist at the federal level with regards to the Affordable Care Act and impact on Federally Qualified Community Health Centers it was an important meeting to attend and learn about possible changes to reimbursement for health services that might affect the Greater New Bedford Community Health Center."
