New Bedford Community Health (NBCH) is proud to announce that we have been recognized by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) with four national quality awards in 2025. These awards highlight our commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, and accessible care to the patients and families we serve every day.

Health Center Quality Leader – Silver

NBCH was also recognized as a Silver Health Center Quality Leader (HCQL), placing us among the top 11-20% of health centers nationwide for overall clinical quality performance. This award reflects NBCH’s consistent focus on quality improvement, patient safety, and effective healthcare delivery across primary care, behavioral health, and dental services, as well as demonstrating the dedication of our providers and staff to consistently deliver excellent, patient-centered care.

National Quality Leader – Heart Health

NBCH earned the National Quality Leader (NQL) Heart Health Badge, recognizing outstanding performance in cardiovascular care. This award highlights NBCH’s success in helping patients manage high blood pressure, reduce tobacco use, and receive aspirin or statin therapy for heart disease prevention. It underscores our commitment to improving heart health for patients in New Bedford and the surrounding region.

Improving Health Care Access

Access to care is at the core of our mission. NBCH received the Improving Health Care Access Badge for expanding services and reaching more patients across our community. This includes increasing access to behavioral health, dental, and substanace use services, as well as demonstrating measurable improvements in clinical quality over time.

Technology plays an important role in improving care, and NBCH was honored with the Advancing Health Information Technology (HIT) for Quality Badge. This recognition highlights our use of electronic health records, telehealth services, secure clinical information exchange, patient engagement tools, and social risk factor data collection to better connect care and improve outcomes for our patients. By leveraging HIT, we've improved care coordination, track social risk factors, and enhances the patient experience across all services.
