Urgent Care

Care When You Need It

Many sicknesses and minor injuries need immediate attention, but not every case is serious enough to call for a trip to the Emergency Room (ER).

New Bedford Community Health’s Urgent Care Center is a convenient alternative when you or a family member are sick and can't get a timely appointment with your regular medical provider. NBCH’s Urgent Care Center is available for walk-in appointments that are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

We can transfer information about your visit to your primary care provider. We primarily treat illnesses and injuries requiring immediate care, but not serious enough to require an ER visit.

Some Of The Illnesses or Injuries We Treat Include:

  • Simple cuts, burns, wounds, or stitches
  • Allergies
  • Asthma attacks (mild or moderate)
  • Minor broken bones
  • Cough, cold, flu-like, and COVID-19 symptoms
  • Sore throat
  • Muscle sprains, strains, bumps, and bruises
  • Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
  • Eye, ear, skin, and other infections
  • Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs) or painful urination
  • Infected wounds, insect bites
  • Rashes without a fever, poison ivy
  • Animal bites or scratches
