Greater New Bedford Community Health Center Receives $25,000 To Create Wellness Connection

NEW BEDFORD -- The Greater New Bedford Community Health Center has been awarded a $25,000 grant by the Massachusetts Health & Educational Facilities Authority (HEFA) for its Caroline Street facility. The number of patients seen at Caroline Street has increased significantly requiring the purchase of additional equipment in order to accommodate patients’ needs in a timely manner.

The grant was awarded through HEFA’s Community Health Center Grant Program. The funding is given for infrastructure projects such as construction, renovation, equipment, furniture, and technology-related projects including training. In 2009, HEFA awarded 21 grants totaling $500,608 to health centers across Massachusetts.
