The Greater New Bedford Community Health Foundation is the charitable support arm of the Health Center. As a nonprofit, community-based health care provider, the GNBCHC depends a great deal on the involvement and support of the Greater New Bedford community. We have been fortunate to have so many active and generous donors, and the Foundation provides an avenue for continued support and involvement. Planned giving, pledges, and one-time donations are only a few of the ways that you can help us to provide the quality, compassionate health care that so many families need. You will help to support the array of health care services to needy children, the elderly, and the many families that we serve.

The Capital Campaign

The GNBCHC has an ambitious plan: to raise $5 million to pay for the upgrade and expansion of our physical plant. The Health Center has secured ownership of its current building and two adjoining properties, gaining effective control over half a city block, which is being used for current and future expansions. To keep pace with the community needs and to create a "one-stop shopping" approach for patients, the Center has also designed an expanded medical campus.

Our New Home

This expansion will add approximately 15,000 square feet of space and will support the potential growth of another 20,000 medical visits and 6,000 to 8,000 dental visits annually.

Foundation Events

Watch for the date of our 2006 Annual Doctors' Cook-Off. Health Center and other area doctors will compete for culinary supremacy in this unique and exciting fundraiser. Winning dishes will be judged by Master Chef George Karousos and other chefs from the International Institute of Culinary Arts. Proceeds from this fundraiser benefited the GNBCHC Capital Campaign.
