Adolescent Services / Maternal Child HealthTeen Clinic:
Teen Clinic offers confidential care to teens between the ages of 13 and 18. This care includes birth control with routine gynecological care, including PAP smears and STD testing and treatment. We also conduct pregnancy testing as well as HIV counseling and testing. Teens with needs beyond their diagnoses are addressed by the nurses, physician and social worker and family planner who staff this program. Health education is a part of every visit. Prevention and risk reduction are always emphasized.Teens can call 508-992-6553 to make appointments for the Teen Clinic without parental consent. We also welcome calls from parents who want these services for their teenagers. The staff is available throughout the week to address immediate concerns of patients receiving or desiring services through the clinic.
Maternal Child Health Program: The Maternal Child Health Program promotes early access to prenatal care, insurance, and adequacy of care to all pregnant teens and women who access the clinic for services. This is accomplished through individual case management which include application to MassHealth and Healthy Start, WIC enrollment, prenatal vitamins, HIV pre-test counseling, dental screening referrals, smoking reduction/cessation, short term counseling and referral, initial obstetric appointments ideally in the first 12 weeks of pregnancy, discussion regarding breast-feeding, safety, child support among other Issues. This home-visiting program offers licensed nursing visits at no cost to high risk pregnant women over the age of 19 years regardless of the number of pregnancies. We have staff members who are culturally sensitive and speak Spanish and Portuguese. We offer prenatal classes 4 times a year for English-speaking patients and 2 times a year for Spanish-speaking patients. For more information call 508-992-6553 Ext. 336. Our program works in collaboration with the obstetricians and midwives at Health Care for Women. Gynecology Clinic This specialty clinic is conducted in collaboration with the gynecologists at Health Care for Women. This clinic is held 1 to 2 times a month. Appointments are limited to women who are receiving their primary care at the GNBCHC and have no insurance. Referrals to the clinic are made by the primary physician or nurse practitioner.
